How to Add Filters Based On Product Creation Date

Want to keep your product feeds fresh and relevant? With the Product Feed Pro plugin, you can filter products by when they were created, either using a specific date or a dynamic rolling window. This lets you exclude old listings or keep your feed automatically up-to-date without manual tweaks. Here’s how to use it in just a few steps.

Step-By-Step Guide

1. Know the Attributes Available

Product Feed Pro offers two date-based attributes useful for filtering feeds:

  • Product Creation Date – a fixed date in YYYY‑MM‑DD format (for example, 2024‑12‑30) indicating when the product was added.
  • Product Days Back Created – a number showing how many days ago the product was created, based on the current date.

2. Create a Static Date Filter

If you want to exclude products created before a certain date (say, February 21, 2025):

  1. In your product feed configuration, go to the Filters tab.
  2. In the “Exclude” section, click the Add New “AND” Filter button
  3. Choose the Product Creation Date from the attribute list dropdown
  4. Select Less Than from the condition list dropdown
  5. Set value 2025‑02‑21.
  6. Click the Save Filters button
  7. Refresh your feed to apply it.

3. Filter for Products Created in the Last “X” Days

To automatically include only newly created products (for example, within the last 30 days):

  1. In your product feed configuration, go to the Filters tab.
  2. In the “Exclude” section, click the Add New “AND” Filter button
  3. Choose the Product Days Back Created from the attribute list dropdown
  4. Select Greater Than from the condition list dropdown
  5. Set value 30
  6. Click the Save Filters button
  7. Refresh your feed to apply it

Filtering products by creation date is an easy way to keep your feeds relevant and up to date. Whether you want to focus on newly added products, remove older listings, or run time-sensitive promotions, these filters give you precise control without extra manual work.

Once your filters are set, remember to periodically review them to make sure they still fit your business goals. Adjusting the date range or conditions can help you adapt to seasonal trends, product launches, or stock changes.
