When you’re generating product feeds for advertising channels (like Google Merchant Center, Meta (Facebook) Catalog, etc.), you may find that some required attributes aren’t present in your store’s data. For example, you might not have a “brand” field defined for all your products, yet the channel demands it. This is where the “static value” feature comes into play: you can insert a fixed (static) value across all products for a given attribute.
Using static values and custom fields lets you:
- Comply with feed requirements without editing each product one by one.
- Maintain uniform values for some fields (e.g., “Condition = new” for all items).
- Create tailored content for channels that expect extra data.
How to Set Static Values
Before you start adding static values, it helps to know where these settings live and how the plugin uses them. The steps below walk you through the process from opening your feed to validating the final output, so you can be sure every attribute is mapped the way your channel requires.
- Go to WP Admin > Product Feed Pro (or Elite) > Manage Feeds.
- Start a new feed or open an existing one you want to update.
- In the Field Mapping step, find the channel attribute you want to set, such as brand, condition, or any other required field.
- Use the dropdown next to the attribute and change it to Static Value. When you do, a new field will be added below the select field.
- Type the value you want applied to all products, such as your brand name or “new” for condition.
- Save your changes, then regenerate the feed so the new value is applied everywhere.
- Preview or download the feed to confirm the static value appears correctly.

Conclusion
Using static values gives you a quick way to fill in missing required data for export feeds. It reduces manual work, especially if you have many products, and helps keep your feeds compliant and well-mapped.
