Why Are My Products Not Showing On Google Shopping? How To Fix It

If you’re dealing with products not showing on Google Shopping, Merchant Center is the best place to start. Your WooCommerce feed may be ready, but products can still be held back by setup problems, review status, disapprovals, or campaign and account issues.

Once you know what status Merchant Center shows, it’s much easier to work out where the problem starts and what to fix next.

Start with the quick check below, then work through the common causes.

Why Are My Products Not Showing On Google Shopping? (Quick Answer)

Common reasons products aren’t showing on Google Shopping include a product data source that hasn’t been set up correctly, products that are still under review, or items that have been disapproved. The first place to check is Merchant Center, under Products and then the Needs attention tab, where Google lists product and account issues that may be affecting visibility.

From there, use the status Google shows to narrow down the cause: data source setup, review status, disapprovals, missing required attributes, feed errors, paid Shopping campaign setup, or account-level issues. If Merchant Center shows the product as eligible or active, not seeing it in a particular Google search doesn’t automatically mean something is broken. Eligible free listings may not appear for every search, and paid Shopping ads can also have serving issues in Google Ads.

Common Reasons Your Products Aren’t Showing (And How To Fix Each)

Most “not showing” problems fall into one of the causes below. Merchant Center tells you which direction to investigate, and AdTribes can help with the ones that come from your WooCommerce feed data.

Your feed hasn’t been added to Merchant Center

If Merchant Center shows no products at all, confirm that you’ve created a product data source and that it uses the feed URL or file you intend to submit. Check the target countries as well, then give Google time to fetch and process the data.

Your products are still in review

Newly added products can sit in a pending state while Google reviews them, and that’s normal. According to Google Merchant Center Help, reviews may take up to 3 to 5 business days for Shopping ads, and a few weeks for other features such as free listings. If items are still pending well beyond that window, check your item issues rather than just waiting.

Your products were disapproved

Disapproved items won’t show until you resolve the issue Google flags against them. Because disapprovals have their own set of causes and fixes, we cover them in depth separately. See our guide to fix disapproved products in Google Merchant Center for the detailed workflow. The short version: read the specific issue Google lists, correct the source data or website problem, then give Merchant Center time to process the change and follow any review, website check, or appeal option it shows.

Missing required attributes

Products need a complete set of required attributes to be eligible, and missing ones are a frequent reason items don’t show. Google Merchant Center Help lists the required product data, which generally includes id, title, description, link, image link, price, and availability, plus identifiers like GTIN, MPN, and brand where they apply. Some categories, such as apparel, ask for extra attributes.

The fix is at the feed level: use AdTribes feed rules and field mapping to fill the gaps across your catalog instead of editing products one by one. If the gap is an identifier like GTIN, MPN, or brand that your products don’t store anywhere yet, Product Feed Elite adds dedicated fields on the product editor to hold them.

Feed errors or the wrong format

Malformed data, encoding problems, or the wrong file format can stop products from processing. Our guide to fixing Google Shopping feed errors covers the specific ones you’ll run into most. One useful check is to inspect the feed output before you submit it. AdTribes feed preview generates a small sample, five products by default, so you can check the format and spot broken or empty values in that sample.

If you have Product Feed Elite Plus or Business, you can also use the AdTribes Feed Validator to check your feed URLs for missing required fields, invalid image URLs, and format errors.

No paid Shopping campaign or budget

If you’re expecting paid Shopping ads, remember that free listings and paid ads are different things. Free product listings can appear across eligible Google surfaces without a campaign, while paid Shopping ads need an active campaign and budget.

If you’re relying on free listings, see our guide to Google Shopping free listings for WooCommerce. If you expected paid ads and see none, check whether the campaign is active and serving in Google Ads.

Account-level issue or suspension

An account-level suspension can stop all of your products from showing. Account warnings can also point to setup or policy problems that need attention, even when listings haven’t been fully disabled yet. Look for account-level messages in Merchant Center, resolve the underlying issue, and follow any review or appeal step Google shows.

If your whole account has been suspended rather than individual items, our guide to fixing a Google Merchant Center suspension walks through the appeal. Google’s policy pages are the best place to confirm the requirement you’re fixing.

Feed issue or Google Ads issue? If Merchant Center flags your product data, correct the source data or feed. If the product is eligible but your paid ads still aren’t serving, troubleshoot the campaign in Google Ads.

How To Diagnose It In Google Merchant Center

The Needs attention tab is where you turn “nothing’s showing” into a specific issue. In Merchant Center, go to Products and then the Needs attention tab, review the product or account issue Google lists, and fix the underlying data, website, or policy problem. If the products are eligible in Merchant Center but paid Shopping ads still aren’t appearing, check the campaign in Google Ads separately. If Merchant Center gives you a review option, Google Merchant Center Help explains how to submit it.

Here’s how the common causes map to a diagnosis and a fix:

Fixing Google Shopping Feed Issues In WooCommerce

When Merchant Center points to a product-data issue, the cleanest fix is usually to correct the WooCommerce feed itself. With AdTribes Product Feed Pro, you can use feed rules and filters to correct or exclude data, map your WooCommerce fields and categories to Google’s requirements, and preview a sample of the feed before submitting it.

If you sell variable products, Product Feed Elite also includes an optional structured-data fix for price mismatches. WooCommerce can put the cheapest variation’s price into a variable product’s page markup, which may not match the price in your feed. When you switch the setting on, Elite corrects the markup so the two agree.

For feed-data issues, diagnose the symptom in Merchant Center, then correct the source in your WooCommerce feed. When a recurring issue, such as a missing attribute, is corrected with a product feed rule, the same correction can be applied every time the feed refreshes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are my products not showing on Google Shopping?

Common reasons include a product data source that isn’t set up correctly, products still under review, disapproved items, feed errors, paid campaign issues, or account-level problems. Start in Merchant Center under Products and then the Needs attention tab to see whether Google has flagged a product or account issue. If Merchant Center shows the products as eligible but paid Shopping ads still aren’t appearing, check Google Ads next.

How long does it take for products to show on Google Shopping?

Google says reviews may take up to 3 to 5 business days for Shopping ads, and a few weeks for other features such as free listings, so it depends where you’re expecting to appear. If items are still pending well beyond that window, check your item issues rather than waiting, since the status may point to a data or policy problem.

Why do my products say “pending” in Merchant Center?

Pending usually means Google is still reviewing the items, which is normal for new or recently changed products. It’s only a concern if products stay pending far longer than the typical review window. In that case, check your item issues to see whether something underlying is holding them up.

Do I need a Shopping campaign for products to show, or are free listings enough?

It depends on where you want to appear. Free listings can show eligible products across Google without a paid campaign, while Shopping ads require a Google Ads campaign and budget. Keep in mind that eligibility doesn’t guarantee a free listing will appear for every search. If you’re troubleshooting paid ads, check the campaign’s serving and product status in Google Ads as well as Merchant Center.

What required attributes do products need to show on Google Shopping?

Google Merchant Center Help lists the required product data, which generally includes id, title, description, link, image link, price, and availability, along with identifiers like GTIN, MPN, and brand where they apply. Some categories ask for more. Because Google updates these requirements, check the current specification and make sure your feed supplies the attributes that apply to your products.

Why did my products get disapproved?

Common reasons include missing attributes, image problems, price mismatches between your feed and landing page, and policy issues. Read the specific issue Google lists, then correct the source data or website problem. Merchant Center may re-review the product automatically or show you a review or appeal step to follow. Our guide to fixing disapproved products in Google Merchant Center walks through each type in detail.

How do I fix a “price mismatch” between my store and Merchant Center?

Price mismatches happen when the price in your feed doesn’t match the price Google reads on your product page, and they can occur with variable products. Make sure your feed reflects the live price. For variable products, Product Feed Elite includes a structured-data fix you can switch on, which corrects the price WooCommerce puts in your product page markup so the feed and the landing page agree.

Getting Your WooCommerce Products Back On Google Shopping

When products aren’t showing on Google Shopping, start with the status in Merchant Center instead of assuming the feed is the problem. If Google points to product data, fix that data at the source where you can so future feed refreshes keep sending consistent values.

If Merchant Center points to a WooCommerce feed problem, the right feed tool can help you correct the source data and keep future refreshes consistent. See the best WooCommerce product feed plugins to compare your options and find the right fit for your store.
