Getting your WooCommerce catalog onto Idealo, Germany’s largest price comparison site, usually means rebuilding a spreadsheet full of shipping and payment costs by hand, then keeping it current every time a price changes. The Idealo channel in Product Feed Pro generates the CSV feed Idealo expects, complete with all the delivery and payment cost columns Idealo’s importer looks for, so you don’t have to rebuild it yourself every time your catalog changes.
Prerequisites
Before you set up your Idealo feed, make sure you have:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Plugin | Product Feed Pro 13.5.8 or later. Idealo support doesn’t require Product Feed Elite. |
| Feed country | Your feed’s Country must be set to Germany. Idealo’s full field template only appears when Country is Germany. |
| WooCommerce store | Products must be published and have stock, price, and an EAN or GTIN set |
| Product identifiers | Each product needs a valid EAN or GTIN. Idealo uses this, together with your brand and title, to match your offer to its catalog |
| Idealo partner account | An active Idealo partner account is required. Idealo doesn’t have a self-serve upload screen. You send your feed URL to Idealo, and Idealo’s team connects it on their end |
How to create an Idealo product feed
Step 1: Open the feed setup page
In your WordPress admin sidebar, go to Product Feed → Create feed.
Step 2: Name your feed and select Germany as the country
On the General tab:
- Enter a name for your feed in the Project name field, for example
Idealo Product Feed. - Open the Country dropdown and select Germany.
Step 3: Select the Idealo channel
- Open the Channel dropdown and select Idealo.de.
- In the File format dropdown, select CSV. Idealo’s own feed importer is built around a comma-separated file, so CSV is the safest choice unless your Idealo account manager has told you to use a different format. The dropdown also offers XML, TXT, TSV, and JSONL.
- Click Save & Continue to move to the Field Mapping tab.

Step 4: Map the required Idealo.de attributes
The Checking against badge at the top of the Field Mapping tab confirms you’re mapping against Idealo.de‘s requirements. The Required fields panel on the left tracks your progress (Product Feed Pro pre-fills several rows automatically), and the Search fields box above it filters the channel’s available attributes by name.
The table lists each Feed attribute on the left, an optional Affix to add a prefix or suffix to the mapped value, and the Source from WooCommerce column where you map each field. Confirm each pre-filled row and fill in the ones marked Required with a red dot before saving.
| Idealo.de attribute | Pre-filled with | Map to | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKU | SKU | SKU | Confirm your WooCommerce products have a SKU set |
| Brand | (no default) | A static value, or a custom attribute | WooCommerce has no built-in brand field, so enter your brand name directly, or map to whichever custom attribute or plugin field stores it |
| Title | Product name | Product name | Confirm this maps to your product title |
| CategoryPath | Category path | Category path, or your own category structure | Sent to Idealo as plain text, for example Clothes, Shoes & Accessories > Men's Clothing > Shorts. Avoid manufacturer names, model numbers, or vague terms like “discounted” in this field |
| url | Link | Link | The product page shoppers land on from Idealo |
| Description | Product description | Product description | Idealo accepts up to 1000 characters here. Longer descriptions get cut off |
| price | Price | Price | Keep this mapped to Price rather than Regular price, so Idealo shows your current selling price if a product is on sale |
| eans | (no default) | Global unique id, if it appears in the Source from WooCommerce dropdown | If you’ve filled in WooCommerce’s own GTIN, UPC, EAN, or ISBN field (Product data → Inventory, WooCommerce 9.2+) on at least one product, it appears in the dropdown as a custom attribute labeled Global unique id. Map this row to that, or to whichever custom attribute or plugin field on your products stores each product’s EAN. Idealo needs a valid EAN to match your offer to an existing catalog listing |
For instructions on mapping fields, using static values, or writing custom attribute logic, see How To Add Fixed Value To Your Product Feed?.

Step 5: Set delivery and payment costs
Idealo needs at least one delivery cost and at least one payment cost in every feed, so it can show shoppers your cheapest shipping and payment options. These rows aren’t required, so they’re collapsed by default. Type “delivery” or a carrier name into the Search fields box, or click the Show 72 more attributes link at the bottom of the table (the count on a new Idealo.de feed), to find them.
Map at least one delivery cost row to a static value from your shipping price list. The available carriers include Deutsche Post, DHL, DHL Go Green, DPD, FedEx, GLS, GLS Think Green, Hermes, UPS, TNT, Trans-o-flex, Spedition (freight forwarder), Pick point, German express logistics, and Download (for digital products). If a carrier doesn’t charge anything, enter 0.00 rather than leaving the row blank.
Do the same for at least one payment cost row. The available methods include Credit card, PayPal, Cash on delivery, Cash in advance, Direct debit, Giropay, Invoice, Postal order, Paysafecard, Sofortüberweisung, Google Checkout, Amazon Payment, Electronical payment standard, and Ecotax. Enter 0.00 for any method that doesn’t carry an extra fee.
Step 6: Set the Direktkauf checkout fields
Idealo’s Direktkauf feature lets shoppers buy directly from Idealo’s own checkout instead of visiting your store. Product Feed Pro marks four related fields as required, even though they only matter if you’ve enrolled in Direktkauf with Idealo:
- checkout: whether this product is available for direct purchase. If you haven’t enrolled in Direktkauf, map this to a static value of
false. - fullfillmentType (shown with the key
fulfillmentTypeunder it): how you fulfil the order, for example parcel service or freight forwarder. Leave this at a static value that matches how you ship, even if Direktkauf isn’t active. - checkoutLimitPerPeriod: the maximum quantity Idealo can sell per day through Direktkauf. If Direktkauf isn’t active, a static value of
0is a safe default. - minimumPrice: the lowest price Idealo can offer through Direktkauf, if you allow Idealo to adjust pricing within a range.
Step 7: Apply filters and rules (optional)
Use the Filters tab to exclude products you don’t want in the Idealo feed, for example products without an EAN or below a minimum stock level. Use the Rules tab to transform values before they appear in the feed, such as rounding your delivery costs to match Idealo’s expected format. For detailed instructions, see How To Create Filters For Your Product Feed? and How to Create Product Feed Rules.
Step 8: Generate the feed
Click Save & Continue to progress through any remaining tabs. On the Conversion & Google Analytics tab, click Generate Product Feed to start feed generation. Product Feed Pro processes your WooCommerce catalog and produces the CSV file.
Once the feed finishes processing, copy the feed URL from the Manage Feeds page.

Step 9: Send the feed URL to Idealo
Idealo doesn’t offer a self-serve upload form like some other channels. Instead:
- Log in to your Idealo partner account, or contact your Idealo account manager if you don’t have portal access yet.
- Send them the feed URL you copied in Step 8.
- Idealo’s team connects the feed on their end and fetches it on their own schedule going forward.
- Ask your Idealo contact to confirm the first import result, so you can fix any rejected rows before the feed goes live.
Troubleshooting
0.00 for free options, rather than leaving the row unmapped.*.local, localhost, or similar), Idealo won’t be able to reach it.FAQ
